Bass Trombone George Curran Plays Outdoors for Concerts in the Parks @ Home

Posted June 23, 2020

New York Philharmonic Bass Trombone George Curran heads outdoors, the ideal venue for a performance of Steven Verhelst’s Hymn for Planet Earth (on George’s 2017 album, Vital Signs). His outdoor performance is part of Concerts in the Parks @ Home, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, our way of recreating the magic of the beloved annual series of free outdoor concerts across the city.

In case you missed it: the four-day Concerts in the Parks @ Home celebration began yesterday with a downloadable prep-your-picnic checklist, a global tune-in map, and Zoom backgrounds of Central Park, Prospect Park, and fireworks.

Stay tuned for an archival exhibit on Google Arts & Culture, photo slideshows, and the star-studded broadcast this Thursday, June 25 at 7:30 PM EDT on Facebook and YouTube.
