VIDEO: New York Philharmonic String Quartet Performs Borodin’s Nocturne in Vail

Posted July 30, 2018

The New York Philharmonic String Quartet (Concertmaster Frank Huang, Principal Associate Concertmaster Sheryl Staples, Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps, and Principal Cello Carter Brey) performed the famous Nocturne from Borodin’s String Quartet No. 2, charming the audience at Bravo! Vail’s Chamber Music Series on July 24. Fun fact: that gorgeous theme became the song “And This Is My Beloved” in the Tony Award–winning musical Kismet, which used Borodin’s music throughout. The concert was part of the Orchestra’s 16th annual summer residency at Bravo! Vail.
