The New York Philharmonic is back in Colorado’s purple mountain majesties. Returning to Bravo! Vail for its 16th annual summer residency, the Orchestra celebrated the Broadway best of former Music Director Leonard Bernstein; Bramwell Tovey conducted and led Gershwin from the piano; pianist George Li made his debut; organist Kent Tritle had the spotlight in Saint-Saëns’s Organ Symphony; and the New York Philharmonic String Quartet performed Haydn, Shostakovich, and Borodin.
