Fellows from Shanghai Orchestra Academy Experience a Week as a Philharmonic Musician

Posted June 03, 2016

Last week the New York Philharmonic hosted the New York Philharmonic Global Academy Fellowship Program’s first international Zarin Mehta Fellows, four students from the Shanghai Orchestra Academy selected by audition for a week-long immersion in the life of an orchestral musician. The Fellows rehearsed and performed Beethoven with the Orchestra, led by Music Director Alan Gilbert, in the Concerts in the Parks. They also had one-on-one lessons, toured the Philharmonic Archives, and explored New York City.
