Second Annual Shanghai Performance Residency Concludes

Posted July 11, 2016

Seven thousand miles and one week later, the New York Philharmonic's second annual Shanghai performance residency has come to a triumphant conclusion. The residency is part of the Shanghai Orchestra Academy and Residency Partnership (presented by The Starr International Foundation), a cornerstone and founding component of the New York Philharmonic Global Academy. The week of concerts and coachings wrapped up with violinist Gil Shaham and Philharmonic cellists in the solo spotlight, Chaplin’s City Lights screened with the score performed live, Very Young Composers, a side-by-side rehearsal with Shanghai Orchestra Academy students, and seminars, workshops, lessons, and coachings led by Philharmonic musicians and administration.
