Second Annual Shanghai Performance Residency Begins

Posted July 06, 2016

The New York Philharmonic has traveled 7,000 miles for the second annual Shanghai performance residency, July 2–8, part of the Shanghai Orchestra Academy and Residency Partnership, presented by The Starr International Foundation and a cornerstone and founding component of the New York Philharmonic Global Academy. There have been four concerts so far, including two performances with star soloist Daniil Trifonov, a Young People's Concert, and a free outdoor concert by the New York Philharmonic Principal Brass Quintet. Philharmonic musicians have also been busy teaching and coaching Shanghai Orchestra Academy students and inspiring Very Young Composers.
