The New York Philharmonic is back in picturesque Colorado for its 13th annual summer residency at Bravo! Vail. Over the weekend the Orchestra performed the first three concerts of its six-concert residency. The ever-witty Bramwell Tovey led two programs — one with pianist Jon Kimura Parker, the other with pianist Anne-Marie McDermott — and former Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Joshua Weilerstein reunited with the Philharmonic and his sister, cellist Alisa Weilerstein, for Tchaikovsky. Plus Philharmonic musicians worked with the Very Young Composers of Vail.
