Welcome to the Leonard Bernstein Circle

The New York Philharmonic’s Leonard Bernstein Circle is the highest level of donor involvement and recognizes contributors who make annual commitments of $25,000 or more. Membership is designed to afford participants an insider’s view of the New York Philharmonic, and to enable them to become familiar with the Orchestra’s musicians. It also enables connections with other members of this foremost community of donors.

Gifts at the various levels of the Leonard Bernstein Circle are used for the general purposes of the New York Philharmonic, helping to make possible its operations, artistic programming, and education programs.

Concertmaster, $25,000

    Join us for this glittering occasion to celebrate the New York Philharmonic at the St. Regis Hotel, with performances by guest artists
  • Music with a View
    You will receive an invitation to a chamber music performance by musicians of the New York Philharmonic followed by cocktails in the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse at Lincoln Center
  • Salon Evenings
    Join us for exclusive Salon Evenings of chamber music performances in special venues and private homes throughout the season
  • Post-concert Receptions
    You will receive invitations to post-concert receptions with artists in the David Geffen Hall Green Room
  • Archive Lecture
    You will be invited to learn more about the history of the New York Philharmonic on a tour led by our knowledgeable Archivist and Historian, Barbara Haws NEW

    An invitation for reserved seating in the VIP section for one performance
  • Annual Free Memorial Day Concert
    An invitation for the reserved-area seating at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine

    An opportunity to meet and ask questions of behind-the-scenes New York Philharmonic personalities NEW
  • Open Rehearsals
    You will receive 10 tickets to select rehearsals by the New York Philharmonic, preceded by coffee in the Patron Lounge
  • Concierge Services
    Use our Patron Office for Tickets and VIP Services for prime seating, last-minute requests, exchanges, and tickets for sold-out concerts. All handling and exchange fees on ticket orders are waived. Additionally, the Patron Office will help you plan your engagement at the New York Philharmonic, offering tickets for Open Rehearsals, Pre-Concerts Talks, the Insights lecture series, and complimentary passes to the Coat Check in David Geffen Hall.
  • Patron Lounges
    The Ronnie and Lawrence Ackman Family and the Donald and Vera Blinken Lounges may be used pre-concert and during intermission
  • Donor recognition
    Leonard Bernstein Circle members are acknowledged in Playbill, in the Annual Report, and on the Philharmonic’s website
  • E-mail notifications
    Receive notice of discounted seats for select concerts during the season
  • Discounts
    Receive discounts on purchases at the Philharmonic Guest Kiosk and at participating bars and restaurants in the Lincoln Center area, including a 10% dining discount with guaranteed reservations at:

Additional Benefits

Memberships at the Maestro level (gifts of $35,000) and all levels above are customized to reflect the interests of individual donors throughout their year of participation. Gifts at these levels are used for the general purposes of the New York Philharmonic and additionally make possible our artistic programming and/or education programs.

Participants in each of the following levels receive all the benefits of the Concertmaster membership level.

  • Maestro, $35,000
    ($989 is non tax-deductible)

    Guest Conductor: Your membership gift will be acknowledged for one performance of a guest Conductor. Your name will be listed on the Program Page of Playbill, you will receive four tickets to the performance, and have the opportunity to greet the Maestro backstage after the concert.

    Artist-in-Residence/Composer-in-Residence Reception: Be our guests at a reception honoring the season’s Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence and/or Marie-Josée Kravis Composer-in-Residence. NEW
  • Virtuoso, $50,000
    ($1,121 is non tax-deductible)

    Guest Artist: Your membership gift will be acknowledged for one performance of a Guest Artist. Your name will be listed on the Program Page of Playbill, you will receive six tickets to the performance, and have the opportunity to greet the guest artist backstage after the concert. NEW

    The Chairman’s Cocktail Party: You will be invited to a cocktail party, exclusive to members of the Leonard Bernstein Circle at the Virtuoso level and above, hosted by Oscar and Didi Schafer. NEW
  • Music Director, $75,000
    ($1,121 is non tax-deductible)

    Music Director, Alan Gilbert: Your membership gift will be acknowledged as support, in part, for a performance of our Music Director as conductor. Your name will be listed on the Program Page of Playbill, you will receive six tickets to the performance, and have the opportunity to greet him backstage in his suite post-concert. NEW
  • Chairman’s Circle, $100,000
    ($1,253 is non tax-deductible)

    Concert Dedication of a New York Philharmonic Subscription Concert: Your membership gift will be acknowledged for one of the performances of the New York Philharmonic. Your name will be listed on the Program Page of Playbill, you will receive eight tickets to the performance, and have the opportunity to greet the artists backstage post-concert. NEW
  • Philharmonic Circle, $250,000
    ($1,781 is non tax-deductible)

    Philharmonic Festival: Your membership gift will be acknowledged as support for a Philharmonic Festival (in part.) Philharmonic Festivals focus on the work of one composer and feature internationally recognized virtuosi each season. Philharmonic Festival sponsorship will be acknowledged on the Program Page of Playbill, and you will receive eight tickets to each of two concerts during the run of the festival. NEW
