New York Stories: Threads of Our City

Building on a legacy of serving as New York’s Orchestra, the Philharmonic turns its sights on music that reflects who we are as a mosaic of people. In this weeklong focus, we explore our roots as a city of immigrants, including through Fire in my mouth, Julia Wolfe’s new multimedia work that spotlights a landmark event that helped shape our history. Community partners include the Museum of the City of New York, National Archives at New York City, and the Tenement Museum.
