The annual holiday tradition returns with festive fare sure to make your season bright. This year’s program includes a Baroque classic by Gabrieli, traditional holiday songs like Jingle Bells and I Have a Little Dreidel, a new work by Ricardo Mollá, and more. These concerts are family-friendly.

    Conductor / Host / Trumpet

    Philip Smith joined the New York Philharmonic as Co-Principal Trumpet in 1978; became Principal Trumpet, The Paula Levin Chair, in 1988; and retired at the end of the 2013–14 season. In August 2014 he joined the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia as the William F. and Pamela P. Prokasy Professor in the Arts. There, in addition to teaching trumpet, he is the bandmaster of the UGA British Brass Band, a member of the Georgia Brass Quintet, and coach of the Bulldog Brass Society. He is an occasional guest with the Charleston Symphony and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra trumpet sections.
