Pianist Simon Trpčeski (pronounced terp-CHESS-kee) is praised not only for his powerful virtuosity and deeply expressive approach, but also for his charismatic stage presence and commitment to strengthening Macedonia’s cultural image. He is a frequent soloist with the major North American orchestras, including The Cleveland and Philadelphia Orchestras; Los Angeles Philharmonic; and the San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, and Baltimore symphony orchestras. Engagements with major European ensembles include the London Symphony, London’s Philharmonia Orchestra, and Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Highlights of Mr. Trpčeski’s 2018–19 season in America include appearances at Ravinia with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Blossom Music Festival with The Cleveland Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival, and the Cabrillo Festival, and returns to the New York Philharmonic and the Chicago, Atlanta, National, and Houston symphony orchestras. Internationally, he performs with the Oslo Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, among others.

Simon Trpčeski works regularly with a prominent list of conductors, including Marin Alsop, Gustavo Dudamel, Charles Dutoit, Cristian Măcelaru, Andris Nelsons, Vasily Petrenko, Robert Spano, and Michael Tilson Thomas. An acclaimed recitalist, Mr. Trpčeski has given solo performances at major halls in New York, San Francisco, Washington, DC, London, and Paris.

Dedicated to making industry-defining recordings, Mr. Trpčeski has recorded for EMI Classics, Avie Records, and Onyx Classics. Born in the Republic of Macedonia in 1979, Simon Trpčeski was named a BBC New Generation Artist, and in 2003 he was honored with the Young Artist Award by London’s Royal Philharmonic Society. In 2009 the President of Macedonia honored him with the Presidential Order of Merit for Macedonia. Most recently, Mr. Trpčeski became the first-ever recipient of the title “National Artist of the Republic of Macedonia.” He makes his home in Skopje with his family.
