Sergio Tiempo made his professional debut at Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw at age 14, and soon became internationally renowned for his raw energy and musical versatility. His orchestral collaborations include the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, Brussels Philharmonic, Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Auckland Philharmonia, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, and the Phoenix, Simón Bolívar, Singapore, BBC, City of Birmingham, St. Petersburg, and Stavanger symphony orchestras. He has worked with conductors including Claudio Abbado, Myung-Whun Chung, Thierry Fischer, Emmanuel Krivine, Alondra de la Parra, Ludovic Morlot, Alexander Prior, and Leonard Slatkin. He has given recitals at the Berlin Philharmonie, Vienna Konzerthaus, Bergen International Festival, and, in a sold-out recital debut, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Recent highlights include a residency at Queensland Symphony Orchestra; performances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Boston Symphony Orchestra in the Ravel Piano Concerto in G, and Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Würth Philharmonic; and recitals at the Martha Argerich Festival at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, and the Brussels Chopin Days Festival.

Mr. Tiempo gave the world premiere of Esteban Benzecry’s Piano Concerto, Universos infinitos, with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel in October 2019. Other highlights in 2019–20 include debuts with the Frankfurt Museum Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, both with Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. He also gives recitals in Colombia, Argentina, Austria, and France.

Recent recordings include Tango Rhapsody by Federico Jusid with pianist Karin Lechner, commissioned especially for the duo and the RSI Lugano, and a solo recital recording titled Legacy.
