Biography
Julie Mathevet

A graduate of the Opéra National de Paris’s Atelier Lyrique in 2008, Julie Mathevet performed the role of Eglé in the World Premiere of Benoît Mernier’s La Dispute at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. She has also appeared as Servilia in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito at Teatro la Fenice; Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Lydia in Fauré’s Pénélope, both at La Monnaie; and Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute at Opéra de Massy in Paris and on tour with Opéra Éclaté. Ms. Mathevet has been invited to sing the role of Yniold in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande on many stages, including at the Opéra national de Paris and the Verbier Festival.

Recent engagements include Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos with The Cleveland Orchestra, in the role of Naiad and covering Zerbinetta, and covering Zerbinetta with Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse. This World Premiere production of David Lang’s prisoner of the state marks Julie Mathevet’s New York Philharmonic debut.
