Fundraising
The New York Philharmonic depends on the ongoing generosity of its many donors to fund dozens of programs and activities throughout the year. If you are detail-oriented and enjoy working with the public, there are numerous opportunities to volunteer in the area of fundraising. As a member of one of the Committees working in this area, you’ll take part in some or all of the following activities:
Special Events
- Assist the Special Events department with mailings, logistics and publicity for events throughout the season, from our Opening Night Gala to numerous members-only and fundraising events
Donor Cultivation and Recognition
- Staff the "Friends Table" on the Grand Promenade before concerts and during intermission to encourage concert attendees to join the Friends program.
- Greet Patrons in the Patron Lounge before concerts and during intermissions.
- Assist with various hosting functions at the Friends/Patrons Coffee Bar, a members-only offering prior to Open Rehearsals on selected mornings.
Philharmonic Gift Kiosk and Book Table
- Assist with sales at the Gift Kiosk and Book Table on the Grand Promenade, which are open to concertgoers 30 minutes before performances, during intermission, and at Open Rehearsals. The Kiosk and Book Table are entirely managed by volunteers and all profits go to the New York Philharmonic. This is the largest of the Council's committees and new volunteers are required to work a minimum number of hours at the Kiosk and Book Table.
