Unrestricted Purpose Endowment Funds

A gift bequeathed by Joseph Pulitzer created an endowment in 1911 assuring the Philharmonic's financial security for generations to come. From Pulitzer's initial gift to the present day, bequest gifts and outright gifts have been contributing to the permanent endowment.

The Endowment Fund gives the Philharmonic the ability to plan its great range of artistic endeavors - including ambitious education and outreach programs - and to maintain the highest standards of artistic excellence.

Some donors have created endowments with a specific purpose or given various sums to existing endowments such as the Education Endowment Fund, the NYP Young People's Concerts, and the Concerts in the Parks.
