Create a Legacy with a Special Fund

Over the years, some of our most visionary donors have chosen to establish restricted endowment funds to help sustain an area of particular interest at the New York Philharmonic. Below, you’ll read about two of our restricted endowment funds. We invite you to contact us to discuss your own interests and hear about the Orchestra’s greatest priorities.

The Francis Goelet Fund for the Philharmonic
Throughout his life, Francis Goelet promoted new works of music and provided generous financial support to the Orchestra. Since its inception, the New York Philharmonic has championed the commission of new works of music, many of which have had their debut performance on our stage. The Francis Goelet Fund enables this extraordinary legacy to continue by supporting the commission, performance and promotion of new works each season. The Francis Goelet Fund financially ensures that new works are regularly scheduled and that the audiences of each generation will have the opportunity to hear works by the finest composers of their time.

The Daisy and Paul Soros Endowment Fund
Each season, the world’s greatest conductors make guest appearances with the New York Philharmonic and contribute immeasurably to the Orchestra’s musical life. Philharmonic Board member Daisy Soros and her husband, Paul, established this new endowment fund to ensure that this tradition can continue for generations to come. Since its inception in 2007, the Daisy and Paul Soros Endowment Fund has supported the appearances of Alan Gilbert, Sir Colin Davis, and Gustavo Dudamel, among others. The Fund will continue to sponsor appearances by three guest conductors during the seasons to come, so that audiences can enjoy the talents of these gifted artists through live performances and broadcasts.
