Your Gift to New York City’s School Children: The Discovery of a Life-long
Love of Music!

What could be a more lasting gift than opening the eyes of a child to a love of music?

Launched in 1996, the Very Young Composers Program enables NYC public school students in grades 4-6, with little or no musical backgrounds, to compose their own music and actually experience it being performed by New York Philharmonic musicians!

Created by recently retired Philharmonic Associate Principal Bassist Jon Deak, the program not only develops an enduring appreciation for music in those children who participate, we have found that it also fosters a greater self-confidence, communication and leadership skills.

We are committed to continuing, and expanding this important program. To do so we are faced with the need to raise $200,000 this year.

Won’t you play a part in helping us to ensure that this vital program will reach more NYC school children by making a gift today to the New York Philharmonic Education Fund?

Your contribution to the Very Young Composers Program is truly a gift that will change young lives…and perhaps even inspire one of the future great composers of this generation!
