The Mr. and Mrs. William T. Knight III Chair
Mrs. William T. Knight III enjoys a close personal involvement with the Orchestra as a subscriber, a member of the Patron and Leonard Bernstein Circle programs, and a participant in many Patron tours over the last several years. Peg, as she is known to the Philharmonic family, had a long held desire to make a special gift to the Orchestra that would endow the principal harp chair. The harp is her favorite instrument.
Coincidentally, Peg had admired Nancy Allen's musicianship and artistry years before Ms. Allen joined the Orchestra as principal harp. After hearing one of Nancy's CDs played at a friend's home, Peg purchased every one of them.
Endowing the principal harp chair offers Peg the opportunity to combine her love of the Philharmonic, her passion for her favorite instrument, her admiration for a distinguished virtuoso, and a celebration of her and her husband Bill's very full life.
