Garrison Keillor is the host and writer of
A Prairie Home Companion and the author of numerous books, including
Lake Wobegon Days, The Book of Guys, Love Me and
Homegrown Democrat. He was born in Anoka, Minnesota, in 1942 and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He lives in St. Paul with his wife and daughter, has two grandsons, and is a member of the American Academy of Arts & Letters and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. Mr. Keillor made his New York Philharmonic debut on March 14, 2006, a program that included
Young Lutheran’s Guide to the Orchestra, led by Philip Brunelle.
Conductor Philip Brunelle founded VocalEssence in 1969 and continues to lead the organization as artistic director in its mission to explore the interaction of voices and instruments through innovative programming. He was selected to preside over the Sixth World Symposium on Choral Music in Minneapolis-St. Paul in August 2002, and has appeared as guest conductor with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Berkshire Choral Festival, and Minnesota Orchestra. He made his New York Philharmonic debut in March 2006 in a concert with Garrison Keillor.
