This concert is now past.

Location: Avery Fisher Hall (Directions)

Sat, Dec 12, 2009, 2:00PM

A work of genius contains a wealth of past influences along with the seeds of new musical growth. This season, each Young People’s Concert focuses on a single masterpiece, through which we will explore how music develops and how the orchestra itself brings the music alive.

La Mer of 1905 marked a major advance in pictorial orchestral writing. Explore just what the modern orchestra can do.
