Watch the Orchestra rehearse!
For only $6 apiece, your students can attend a real Philharmonic rehearsal. Teaching artists offer a special workshop before the rehearsal for students with little musical experience; students with more experience attend a post-rehearsal conversation with a Philharmonic musician.
2011-2012 Musical Encounters Concerts
Go behind the scenes at a Philharmonic rehearsal. For grades 3-12.
Option 1 For classes with limited musical background
- 10:30AM: workshop on orchestral music and rehearsal repertory
- 11:30AM: one-hour Philharmonic rehearsal
Option 2 For ensembles and classes with musical background
- 9:45AM: full 2-1/2 hour Philharmonic rehearsal
- 12:30PM: post-rehearsal conversation with a member of the Philharmonic
All events at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center.
