The New York Philharmonic offers School Day Concerts during the school year, designed especially for a student audience.
Musical Encounters introduces young students to the basics in a one-session visit: What is music? What is an orchestra? What does a conductor do? Students get to see and hear the New York Philharmonic in action by attending a working rehearsal.
Students attend Hear & Now and Inside the Music concerts for only $12 per ticket!
Members of the New York Philharmonic conduct sectionals or master classes upon request. Students may also attend a pre-concert talk with a noted scholar, or a post-concert question and answer session with a Philharmonic member.
Students can attend the final rehearsal for a concert and witness the hard work that goes into coordinating the sounds of 106 different musicians and their instruments.
