Lincoln Center Construction News

The Transforming Lincoln Center project affects New York Philharmonic patrons as construction continues along Columbus Ave. in front of Avery Fisher Hall and on Josie Robertson Plaza.

Access to Avery Fisher Hall

You can still use the main doors and the east doors for Avery Fisher Hall. Construction walls are blocking off some areas of the Plaza, but there are paths to the doors of the Hall.

Maps and signs directing patrons to the Plaza and Avery Fisher Hall are posted.

Drop-Off Driveway and Concourse Access

The Columbus Ave. driveway/inner roadway is currently closed to accommodate the construction of a lower roadway at the concourse level. The alternate drop-off location for accessible entry is on West 65th St. at Columbus Ave. A ramp there provides access to the east doors of Avery Fisher Hall, which now have automated doors available.

Lincoln Center has begun to allow patron vehicles to enter the concourse system via 64th Street and Amsterdam Ave. Entering vehicles will be permitted to turn southbound into the North-South Connector and drop off patrons in front of the Central Concourse by the Met Lobby before exiting via 62nd St. between Columbus and Amsterdam Ave. As construction phasing adjacent to the Lincoln Center Theater Stage Door is progressing and currently extends slightly into the roadway, all patron car traffic will be directed to exit the system via the North-South Connector to 62nd St.

Directions

Subway Access

Until further notice, the 64th St. and Columbus Ave entrance to the subway is closed. Access to the 66th Street downtown subway platform will not be available from the concourse level, and the eastern concourse and subway stairs within Avery Fisher Hall are also closed. Station access will be available at all times from 66th St. and Broadway.

Parking

The Lincoln Center Park & Lock Garage will remain open, but due to construction on 65th St., access to the parking garage may be limited at times. Please use the 62nd St. or Amsterdam Ave. entrances. The garage prepay booth opposite the Met Opera concourse entrance has been closed. An additional service booth has been added in the Yellow section of the garage (concourse level) between the vehicle entrance gate and the pedestrian entrance.
