New York Philharmonic on Tour

During the 2006 New York Philharmonic Tour of Italy, sponsored by Generali, masterpieces of architecture will ring with masterpieces of music, as the Philharmonic, led by Music Director Lorin Maazel, performs in venues ranging from Milan's Teatro alla Scala — which opened in 1778 — to Rome's space-age Parco della Musica, designed by Renzo Piano, which opened in 2004. The Orchestra will return to three cities it first visited on its 1930 European Tour, led by Arturo Toscanini — Rome, Florence, and Milan — and will break new ground with concerts in Parma, Ravenna, Ljubljana (Slovenia), and Trieste.
