New York Philharmonic on Tour

The 75th Anniversary European Tour with Lorin Maazel celebrates the historic 1930 tour by the Orchestra with Arturo Toscanini. Part I of the tour, in September 2005, took the Orchestra to festivals in Germany and Switzerland. The highlight of Part II, in November 2005, is a series of three concerts at Dresden's Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), the Baroque masterpiece destroyed by Allied bombs at the end of World War II, which has now been rebuilt as the architectural and spiritual centerpiece of Dresden 50 years later.
